Now its labyrinthine streets decked in shades of blue are open to visitors. It is famous for its shrines and history.
The sightseeing includes Uta Hammam, the Kasbah, the Great Mosque (exterior only), the Medina and a moment of relaxation in Ras El Maa, the source of water and one of the prettiest places in Chechaouen.
